Safari Overview:

Our three-day tour to Udzungwa will allow you to take in the breathtaking scenery that Tanzania is famous for. The first day of the tour begins with a breathtaking journey from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park, which has breathtaking vistas of the surrounding area. You will have an exciting game drive there, during which you will come face to face with a wide range of animals, such as buffalo, giraffes, elephants, and many more. On day 2, you will go to Udzungwa, which is famous for its rich forest and distinct types of animal and plant life. The Sanje Waterfall Trail, which provides hikers with a magnificent experience, is the centrepiece of the area. This terrestrial beauty is a paradise for anybody who are passionate about nature. We invite you to join us for an excursion that will take place over the course of three days and will include both remarkable experiences and breathtaking views of Tanzania’s natural wonders.

Begin a tour that will take you across the breathtaking natural splendour of Tanzania over the course of three days. Your journey starts on Day 1 with a lovely drive through the countryside from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park, where you will be treated to stunning vistas of the surrounding landscape. Prepare yourself for an exciting game drive as soon as you arrive, during which you will come face to face with a wide variety of animals, ranging from magnificent buffalo and beautiful giraffes to awe-inspiring elephants and other animals as well.

Breakfast will be served between 7:00 and 7:30, and then we will travel directly to Mikumi National Park via Kilombero Sugarcane Plantation, which will take around two hours. Along the way, we will supply you with refreshments as well as some lighter nibbles. At ten o’clock in the morning, we shall find ourselves at Mikumi National Park. Because of this, it is not uncommon to get the chance to watch animals taking a break from the relentless heat by finding refuge in the shade provided by the branches of a giant tree. The last part of the day consists of checking into the park’s cottages or rest rooms and then going on another safari for close to two hours’ worth of driving. After that, we make our way back to the hotel for lunch and a short break before setting out for an afternoon game drive that will go for close to four hours. We make our way back to the Park cottages or the Rest house, where a table has been reserved for us at the hotel for supper between the hours of 7:00 and 8:30.

After we have finished our breakfast, we will go to Udzungwa National Park. The Udzungwa Mountain National Park in Tanzania was the first terrestrial national park in the country and spans an area of 1990 square kilometres. There are around 20–30 percent of the approximately 200 animal and plant species that flourish here that are not found anywhere else in the world, making this forest one of the most famous for its biological diversity. Despite this, it is a wonderfully gorgeous area for going on hikes. Within the confines of the park, a relaxing meal in the form of a picnic will be provided. The rest of the day will be spent at the park where we are now located. The Twiga hotel will have accommodations that are all-inclusive and include full board for guests.

What makes Udzungwa National Park stand out from other parks?

The Udzungwa mountain range is considered to be a component of the Eastern Arc Mountains. The vegetation cover is still prominent from low to high altitude, and the canopy remains generally untouched across much of the range. This gives the range its distinctive character.

What part of the country is the Udzungwa National Park located in?

The Udzungwa Mountains National Park may be found in south-central Tanzania, namely in the areas of Iringa and Morogoro. Its coordinates are 37 206000 East, 9109000 North, and 277000 East, 9170000 North. Kilolo and Kilombero Districts in the Iringa and Morogoro Regions are both home to the National Park, which has a total geographical size of 1,990 km2 and can be found in each of those regions.

Where can I find out about the past of Udzungwa National Park?

It wasn't until the 1950s that five separate forest reserves—namely Mwanihana, West Kilombero Scarp, Nyanganje, Matundu, and Iwonde forest reserves—were brought together to create the national park. It is thought that the woods have been there for about 30 million years and that they were at one time linked to the forest that covers the Congo Basin.

What kinds of activities are available to visitors in Udzungwa Mountains National Park?

The Udzungwa Mountains National Park is the primary draw for visitors to the Udzungwa Forest Lodge. This park is famous for its outstanding opportunities for hiking, trekking, mountain climbing, and forest walks. Since the mountains are inaccessible by car and the only way to get there is on foot via one of the numerous paths, they hide their secrets from everyone other than the most daring explorers.

To visit the Udzungwa Water Falls, how much does it cost to do so?

At both parks, visitors are required to pay an admission charge of $20 per person per 24 hours. The cost of a daily guide in Udzungwa is $10 per party, while longer walks need the services of an armed ranger, which adds an additional $20 per group.

Which mountain range does Udzungwa belong to?

The Udzungwa Mountains are located in the Eastern Arc Mountains and are home to a great variety of indigenous plant and animal species. These mountains are also home to a varied ecosystem of flora and animals.
